For POS providers

Show your merchants who's buying what.

Add customer intelligence to your merchant dashboard with deeper understanding of who buys what, when they visit, and how they spend.

Delivered to your product as privacy-controlled cohort insights.

Data provenance

Where does the customer data come from?

Tabr delivers receipts through participating banks, digital wallets and expense-management platforms. Where the appropriate customer consent and data rights exist, these partners provide permitted attributes such as age band and gender for cohort-level analytics.

Participating partners

Receipts are delivered through participating banks, digital wallets and expense-management platforms that already hold the customer relationship.

Permitted attributes only

Where the appropriate customer consent and data rights exist, those partners provide permitted attributes such as age band and gender. Tabr does not scrape, infer or guess them.

Aggregated outputs

POS providers and merchants receive privacy-controlled cohort insights only, never raw personal data or identifiable customer profiles.

Attributes are available only for eligible transactions where a participating partner holds the appropriate permissions. Not every receipt will be enriched.

Merchants see cohort-level metrics only. Individual customers are never shown alongside a receipt.

Privacy by design

Deeper insight without exposing individual customers.

Tabr is designed to return useful merchant intelligence through controlled cohorts and aggregated reporting, with permissions and data use defined for each participating partner.

Defined data permissions

Customer attributes are used only where the necessary permissions, notices and data rights are in place.

Age bands, not birth dates

Analytics use defined age ranges rather than exposing exact dates of birth to merchants.

Minimum cohort sizes

Insights are withheld where a group is too small to report safely.

No identifiable customer lists

Merchant dashboards show cohort trends rather than names, contact details or card credentials.

Purpose-controlled access

Data access and permitted use cases are contractually and technically controlled.

Tabr processes permitted attributes to produce aggregated merchant insights. Raw personal attributes are not exposed to POS providers or merchants.

The missing connection

Your POS knows what was sold. Tabr adds who bought it.

POS platforms already hold detailed basket data, but usually know little about the customer behind an anonymous card payment. Tabr matches eligible receipts to participating customers and returns aggregated purchasing insights by age band and gender.

Your POS knows

  • Products purchased
  • Basket value
  • Location
  • Date and time
  • Discounts
  • Tips
  • Product categories

Tabr adds

  • Age-band cohorts
  • Gender cohorts
  • Cohort purchase frequency
  • Cohort average basket
  • Category preferences
  • Daypart behaviour
  • Product affinities

Together, these datasets help merchants understand which customer groups buy which products, when they visit and how their behaviour changes over time.

How it works

From a single sale to cohort-level insight.

01

Your platform provides the receipt data

Your POS sends the item-level receipt and available transaction signals to Tabr.

02

A participating partner provides permitted attributes

Where the appropriate permissions exist, a participating bank, wallet or expense platform provides the permitted customer attributes associated with the transaction.

03

Tabr matches and aggregates the data

Tabr connects eligible transactions to receipts, groups activity into cohorts and applies minimum reporting thresholds.

04

Insights return to your platform

Your platform receives aggregated cohort metrics to display within its own merchant dashboard.

No browsable customer lists are created, and insights are withheld when a cohort is too small to report safely.

Data flow

How the two datasets come together.

Receipt data from your platform and permitted partner attributes are matched and aggregated by Tabr, then returned as cohort metrics your dashboard can render.
